I tried it on without makeup, unfortunately, but the color is good. Here I used it with a lip gloss that I ordered at the same time. If you're looking for a black lip gloss, you'll find it. I recommend it; at first, I thought it wouldn't apply well as soon as I put it on, but after a few seconds, the pencil starts to "melt" to the touch and colors super well.
